The Foundation’s Legacy Giving Program, launched in 2019, honors Bill Pulte’s generosity by empowering family members and employees to support charitable causes.
The Foundation established an $111 million partnership with the University of Notre Dame in 2019. Among other things, this partnership created the Pulte Institute for Global Development to combat global poverty through policy, practice, and partnerships.
A ribbon-cutting celebrating the opening of the Pulte Family Foundation campus was held this day in Ft. Lauderdale, FL—marking a significant investment in the community’s behavioral health resources for those in need.
The Foundation made a commitment to create Bill’s Place, a community in West Palm Beach, for men 50 and older who suffer from chronic homelessness—in partnership with The Lord’s Place.
The Foundation acquired Saint John’s Resort (Plymouth, MI) creating the Humanitarian Hotels, where 100% of the net profits are given to charitable causes around the world. The Inn at Stonecliffe (Mackinac Island, MI), and the Hilton Garden Inn (Laramie, WY) would also become Humanitarian Hotels.
The Our Lady of the Lake World Peace Plaza, located on Notre Dame’s campus, was dedicated on this date. It features a water installation inscribed with a Prayer for World Peace in six languages, which was co-authored by our founder William J. Pulte and religious leaders of various faiths from around the world.
The Foundation traveled to Bangladesh in 2023 to visit and learn from our partners; Poverty Eradication Program, Partners in Sustainable Development International, L’Arche, and the Holy Cross Brothers.
The William J. Pulte Construction Practices Lab and Scholarship at Ferris State University was established in 2023 to develop skilled construction professionals.
The Foundation’s gift helped make possible the groundbreaking of a state-of-the-art residence and treatment center for young boys who have endured severe abuse or neglect.
The Foundation announced a significant matching gift to Angels’ Place—an organization that provides 21 homes and professional services to nearly 100 adult residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Detroit area.
The Foundation closed on a 50-acre piece of property in Immokalee, FL, in 2024, to build Monarca, an affordable rental housing community that will serve the low socio-economic population in this region. When completed, Monarca will offer 184 two, three and four-bedroom single family homes for rent.
After extensive renovations, The Inn at Stonecliffe on Michigan’s Mackinac Island celebrated its grand opening on this date.
The Cardinal at Saint John’s Resort, an 18-hole championship golf course opened for play on this date. The Cardinal and Saint John’s Resort were selected to host the 2025 LIV Golf Team Championship, showcasing the property in front of a worldwide TV audience.
The Vatican approved the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation’s first-of-its-kind endeavor through The Catholic Initiative to acquire Detroit’s Basilica of Ste. Anne—creating a groundbreaking model to restore, endow, and sustain Catholic institutions across America for generations to come.

Saint John’s Resort was named Best Hotel, Resort, and Business Hotel in Michigan by U.S. News & World Report (2025 Rankings).
The IDDeal Place celebrated its grand opening as Palm Beach County’s first-of-its-kind residential community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering 3.5 acres and more than 24,000 square feet of living space.
